What type of photo should I choose?

HIGH RESOLUTION: The photo should be clear and sharp. This ensures the details of your pet, such as fur texture and facial expressions are well captured in the painting.
GOOD LIGHTING: Natural light is best. Avoid photos with harsh shadows or overexposure. A well lit image helps to show true colours and finer details.
CLOSE UP AND CLEAR VIEW: Choose a photo that shows your pet’s face clearly, ideally with no obstructions.
AVOID FILTERS AND HEAVY EDITING: Natural, unfiltered photos are preferred for accurate representation.

Can I request specific colours or background for my portrait?

FULL PORTRAIT: Background colour and style is custom. One accessory NOT in the selected photo can be added (e.g. collar, bandana)

PEEK-A-BOO PORTAIT: Solid background colour of your choice. (Sending an example photo of your chosen colour helps me match it correctly)

How long does it take to complete my pet portrait?

The process typically takes 3-4 weeks from the time I receive your photo and approve the details with you. This allows me to create the best quality artwork and ensure you’re fully satisfied with the final product. If you need a portrait by a specific date, please let me know, and I’ll do my best to accommodate your timeline. If there is a waitlist at the time of booking you will be notified by email.

What type of medium is used?

All paintings are done in professional grade acrylic on 5/8 ” pre-stretched cotton canvas. Paintings come varnished in a satin finish with UV protection, to keep the artwork vibrant for years to come.

Can you paint multiple pets in one portrait?

Yes, I can paint multiple pets in a single portrait! Please see Pet Portraits page for canvas options. If you have more than one pet you’d like included, just send me clear photos of each one.

What if I’m not satisfied with my custom pet portrait?

I strive to make sure you are completely happy with your portrait. Before finalizing the painting, you’ll receive a preview to ensure it meets your expectations. Once the portrait is completed and shipped, refunds or exchanges are not possible, but I’ll work closely with you throughout the process to guarantee a piece you love.

How will my custom pet portrait be shipped?

All portraits are carefully packaged and shipped using a trusted carrier to ensure your artwork arrives safely. I offer both domestic and international shipping, and tracking information will be provided once your painting is on its way.

How do I send my pet photo?

After your order has been placed you can send up to 3 photos of your pet and an example of your background colour choice to meghanpaintslive@gmail.com.
