Live Wedding Painting Frequently Asked Questions

If you have decided I’m the artist for you, it’s advised to book as early as possible after setting your wedding date. Popular dates book up fast, so securing Meghan in advance is key to ensuring availability for your special day.

I would be delighted to travel for your wedding! Based in Lac Brome, QC, I offer complimentary travel up to 200 km (round trip)* from my home studio with all packages. For venues exceeding this distance, additional travel costs may apply, including mileage ($0.67/km), car rental, or airfare. For locations over 300 km away, 1-2 nights hotel accommodations will be necessary. Additionally, I charge a travel allowance ($100/day) for locations over 300 km to cover expenses such as parking, tolls, gas for car rental, and meals. All travel fees will be added to the cost of your selected package, detailed in your contract, and due at the time of booking.

As your live wedding painter, my goal is to capture the essence of your special day in a single, breathtaking image.  Approximately 4 weeks prior to the wedding, you will receive my questionnaire. This will help me in the planning process and making design decision such as the pose, scene, colours, background and more.  A consultation will follow, ensuring that the final painting reflects your vision and spirit of your celebration. Don’t worry if you’re not sure, I’m here to help!

As set up is minimal, my only requirements are a 5′ x 5′ painting area (indoor or outdoor) that is arranged prior to my arrival, with a near by outlet for my lamp. Access to a sink for dumping paint water and cleaning brushes is greatly appreciated.

I will arrive 2-3 hours before the ceremony or reception to set up, scout the location, and capture reference photos and videos. I will begin the underpainting and background before your guests arrive. Photos and videos of the special moment to be painted can be arranged privately or taken in collaboration with your photographer. Throughout the event, I will continue painting while guests enjoy watching the artwork come to life. Towards the end of the night, I will present the painting to you—consider having your photographer capture this moment! The goal is to complete the painting by the end of the night for you to take home. If additional work or touch-ups are needed, the painting will be taken back to my studio, and a pick-up date will be arranged. For non-local weddings, the painting will be finished the following morning and ready for pick-up before my departure.

Artist-grade archival Acrylic paints are used for vibrant colours and quick drying time. A top coat of varnish for long lasting UV protection and a beautiful finish. All paintings completed on a 1.5in gallery wrapped, pre-stretched canvas.

If your date is available, you will receive a confirmation email with your proposal and contract attached. To proceed, return the signed contract along with a 25% non-refundable deposit on the package and any applicable travel costs. This will officially secure your date. The remaining balance is due one week before the wedding date.
